So...no GW2 info at PAX. :(
Quote:
That's unlikely. We won't be making any announcements about Guild Wars 2 at PAX, nor will we be showing Guild Wars 2. I'm not sure what information you'd like, apart from write-ups / summaries of what happened at our panels, and an in-game chat is not the best vehicle for that by a long stretch. Perhaps someone from Massively, Joystiq, or another blog or even one of the fansites may be at PAX to cover the panels, who knows? ArenaNet staff will be appearing at some panels, but it would be logistically difficult for our team to run all our tournaments at PAX, for me to be present at the booth with the other staff speaking to con-goers, and for me to also be holding another PAX event in-game, as our panels are scheduled during or very close to times when I will be working on other events, such as the party. --Regina Buenaobra Image:User Regina Buenaobra sig.png 16:10, 22 July 2008 (UTC)

Didn't see a topic on it but...
I'm disappointed now.

So why is Regina the CR again?
"I'm not sure what information you'd like, apart from write-ups / summaries of what happened at our panels, and an in-game chat is not the best vehicle for that by a long stretch."
Pretty sure Gaile tried her best to give as much of that info as she could. Wtb replacement CR.

Seriously. Gaile was more friendly and seemed way more dedicated to the players. Regina has yet to prove that, or so it seems. I hate to take a shot like that at someone, but really, if you're filling the shoes of a community manager, you better do your job.
Not only that, but I love how ANet says they wont even be showing anything about GW2 at PAX or Leipzig... if they knew that maybe they should have held back their GW2 announcement to begin with. This is seriously getting really old.

ITT: why Regina doesn't talk to the players much. Cause the players suck. If you want someone to be friendly to you, you have to be friendly towards them first. From day 1 she was given shit so stfu.
EDIT:
Some of us like the fact she doesn't bother answering every single pointless question or doing flashy stuff like stupid follow things. Those are great yes, but I'd rather have someone who is no non-sense business. She is a pretty cool person and good at doing her job if you get to know her first instead of comparing her to Gaile every 5 seconds.

No.
This is not about 'friends' or 'politeness'. Talking to the players is her job, and if she doesn't want to do it, she can get out and stop being paid to do it.

I'm tired of hearing about GW2. Release stalkers are the most annoying forumites around beside the normal trolls and such.
Information will be released when it's released. The hype train won't let you avoid the information. It will be plastered on your gaming news sites, this site, GW site itself, at GW login, and anywhere else they can plaster it.
Game releases take years. Sometimes even decades. Sometimes they never actually arrive even after being announced.
Remember the first time you heard anything at all about Spore? Yeah, me too. How long ago was that? How about Starcraft 2? How about the granddaddy of them all Duke Nukem...
Just wait for the information. Trust me. You won't miss it.

Regardless of people giving her shit since day 1, it's her job to talk to us. She gets paid to talk to us. She's not talking to us, so she's not doing her job properly. I wouldn't want to talk to us either, but if I was getting paid to do it, I'd do it.
Anyways, ANet either want to keep everything a secret to really surprise us, or they have little done for GW2. I hope it's not the latter.

Yah, but she does talk to people. Maybe it's not everyone in every little thread but she talks to people and passes on information. She just isn't readily apparent as Gaile since Gaile would post in like every topic ever.

I have a lot of stuff to do RL, don't get paid, and I can post in every topic ever.
If she's not frequenting forums and being visible, what does she do?

I couldn't agree with you more especially about the GW2 annoucement as to no beta this year and whenever.I wouldn't of annouced it without any news on it.
Avarre is right Regina should be on the fansites what she get paid for either that or set up thier own boards fansites can still run with an official board.

The one thing that annoys me, is that she suggested people contact her on the wiki, and if they have suggestions, put them there, rather than her reading fansites.
Firstly, it's her JOB to go to fansites. COMMUNITY RELATIONS.
Secondly, wiki is not a forum. It's an encyclopedia where people can discuss the details of a page, in order to make sure it is correct. Since when did it turn into a discussion forum?
Hire someone else as CR, Regina fails harder than this mAT.

And what would she say, exactly? Oh, sorry guys, but I can't tell you anything about GW2... because we don't know anything. Now if you'll excuse me, where were those threads about buffing frenzy... I'm very busy!
Regina's only just walked in on the job, give her a chance. Also, she's the voice of areanet, she's not controlling it. If they want her to hold back info for the time being, then it's not her choice.

Thirdly, the other devs respond more on the wiki than she does.
